Westin Hotels & Resorts has launched The Westin Nirup Island Resort & Spa, Batam, a new wellness-focused retreat in Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago. Located just a short ferry ride from Singapore and Batam, the resort occupies the entire Nirup Island and offers guests a private, nature-rich escape. The resort features 94 guest rooms and 52 villas, all designed to encourage rest and rejuvenation and equipped with amenities such as the brand’s Heavenly Bed and wellness-inspired interiors. Ramesh Jackson, Regional Vice President, Indonesia & Malaysia, Marriott International, stated, “Guided by Westin’s Pillars of Well-Being—including Sleep Well, Eat Well, Move Well—this resort is designed as an enriching haven where guests can optimize their well-being and achieve balance amidst the tranquility of nature.” With customs and immigration facilities on-site and private marina access, arrivals are streamlined for international travelers.
Guests can enjoy a variety of wellness and leisure options, including the Heavenly Spa, a fitness studio with ocean views, yoga sessions, guided nature walks, and water activities. The resort also offers four dining venues, from seafood-focused fine dining to rooftop cocktails, as well as a Kids Club and dedicated event spaces for weddings and meetings. Architectural design elements reflect the local Orang Laut heritage, and villa arrangements support both privacy and group stays. As part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, the resort aims to deliver a balanced and relaxing experience for families, couples, and business travelers seeking an immersive retreat near Singapore.
