United Airlines has announced the debut of its new Elevated interior for Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, setting a higher standard for international premium travel among U.S. carriers. The redesigned aircraft will feature United Polaris Studio suites with eight lie-flat, all-aisle-access business class seats with privacy doors, companion ottomans, and 27-inch 4K OLED screens, the largest of any U.S. airline. A new amuse-bouche service featuring Ossetra caviar and Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé adds to the premium experience, along with enhanced dining options and an onboard grab-and-go snack bar. Standard Polaris suites also receive upgrades such as sliding doors, 19-inch OLED screens, wireless charging, and Bluetooth connectivity. In total, the aircraft will include 99 premium seats, which is the highest number on any United widebody, with upgraded United Premium Plus and Economy cabins offering improved seating, Bluetooth, and larger entertainment screens.
United expects to begin service with the Elevated 787-9 aircraft by the end of 2025, launching international routes from San Francisco to Singapore and London in 2026. All future 787 deliveries will feature the Elevated interior, with 30 aircraft expected by 2027. The airline has also partnered with Starlink to offer free high-speed Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members on these flights. United’s continued investments in onboard food, amenities, and connectivity reflect a commitment to enhancing the travel experience across all cabins. United Airlines EVP and Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella, highlighted, "We already deliver a superior international experience and fly to the most places across the Atlantic and Pacific—these new innovations provide a more premium experience overall, give customers even more reasons to choose United, and set our airline up to grow into the next decade and beyond.”
