Salterra Resort Opens in South Caicos, Offering Luxury with an Eco-Conscious Twist

Marriott International’s The Luxury Collection has introduced Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, as its first property in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Located on the shores of South Caicos, the resort blends natural beauty with high-end experiences, offering 100 guest rooms and suites designed with native materials like coral stone and sisal. Floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious balconies provide panoramic views of the Caribbean landscape. The Spa at Salterra features an ocean-inspired thermal circuit, including a salt sauna and a hammam, ensuring a relaxing wellness experience. Guests can enjoy diverse dining options, such as Brine, the resort’s signature restaurant, which highlights local flavors and the island’s salt heritage. Other venues, including Cobo Bar & Grill and Flamingo Café, offer Latin-inspired dishes and homemade gelato.

Beyond luxury, Salterra prioritizes sustainability by generating over half of its energy from renewable sources and using desalinated seawater. The resort has eliminated single-use plastics and collaborates with the South Caicos Coral Reef Consortium to support coral restoration. Positioned near the Admiral Cockburn Land & Sea National Park, Salterra offers eco-adventures like snorkeling, kayaking, and whale watching. Michael Tibbets, Managing Director of Salterra, commented “This resort is a destination where luxury and sustainability come together in an extraordinary setting.”
