A recent report by consultancy Kearney has revealed that 75% of travelers now consider the environmental impact of their trips, with millennials leading this shift. The survey, conducted across nine countries including the U.S., China, and India, found that 86% of travelers aged 25 to 34 prefer eco-friendly travel modes and green mobility alternatives. The report highlights the increasing demand for immersive travel experiences, with 75% of respondents spending at least half their time exploring beyond their accommodations. Wellness travel is also gaining traction, with nearly 30% of wellness tourists now traveling with children, signaling a shift toward family-friendly self-care experiences.
Kearney’s findings indicate a growing demand for both luxury and budget travel. More than 50% of travelers are willing to spend on premium services, particularly those aged 25-44 and from developing economies. At the same time, over 60% of solo travelers prioritize affordable or budget-friendly options. Iconic destinations like New York and Las Vegas remain popular while emerging niche locations are attracting attention. Experts suggest that tourism providers must adapt to these shifting preferences to remain competitive, with sustainability and personalized experiences playing a key role in the future of travel.
