Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes has announced the addition of Castello di Procopio, a meticulously restored 12th-century castle in Umbria, Italy, to its growing portfolio of private luxury residences. This marks the brand’s first property in the region, offering guests a distinctive opportunity to experience Umbrian culture and landscape with Mandarin Oriental’s signature hospitality. Originally commissioned by Holy Roman Emperor Frederico Barbarossa, the estate features architectural elements dating back to Roman times and has been carefully restored using historical records and original blueprints. Set across 11 acres of olive groves and vineyards, the eight-bedroom estate accommodates up to 16 guests. It features amenities such as a spa suite, private cinema, infinity pool, and curated local experiences.
Designed to offer comfort and refinement, the estate features custom interiors, vaulted ceilings, frescoed walls, and fine Italian furnishings. A dedicated chef and concierge team deliver a seamless guest experience, with daily offerings including tailored breakfasts, wellness treatments, wine tastings, and excursions to historic sites like Assisi. Ersev Demiroz, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Homes, highlighted, “Castello di Procopio represents everything we seek in a Mandarin Oriental Exceptional Home, authentic heritage, sophisticated design, and exceptional service.” He added, each aspect of the experience has been thoughtfully crafted to uphold the brand’s high standards and enhance the overall guest experience. The estate promises an elegant and immersive retreat into the heart of the Italian countryside.
