Italy’s latest luxury travel venture, the La Dolce Vita Orient Express, has made its debut, offering a lavish train experience with a nostalgic mid-century Italian design. The inaugural journey took passengers to Montalcino, showcasing the beauty of Tuscany's vineyards. This private luxury rail fleet is a collaboration between Arsenale, Orient Express, and FS Treni Turistici Italiani, marking the first of its kind in Italy. The fleet consists of 31 cabins, including deluxe rooms, suites, and the iconic La Dolce Vita Suite, with each journey spanning 14 regions across Italy. Guests can indulge in slow travel while exploring the cultural richness of the country.
Designed by Dimorestudio, the train interiors are inspired by the glamour of 1960s Italy, with homage to design legends like Gio Ponti and Gae Aulenti. Passengers are treated to world-class cuisine curated by Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck, and the experience extends beyond the train with stops that immerse travelers in local traditions. Offering a refined experience, the train includes elegant lounge spaces, a well-stocked bar, and a serene atmosphere that celebrates Italian heritage. Paolo Barletta, CEO of Arsenale, stated, "This project represents a benchmark for Made in Italy, promoting sustainable travel and supporting local entrepreneurship."
