In the wake of devastating floods across Central and South Texas, companies are coming together to provide critical aid to affected communities. Walmart, Sam’s Club, and the Walmart Foundation are committing up to $500,000 in grants and in-kind donations to support flood-affected communities in Central and South Texas. This includes a customer donation match of up to $250,000 through a campaign with The Salvation Army, available soon in stores and online. The company has collaborated with nonprofit partners to provide essentials such as food, water, and hygiene supplies. At the Kerrville Supercenter, Operation BBQ Relief is providing hot meals, while Tide’s Loads of Hope laundry service and mobile showers from Matthew 25: Ministries are also available. John Furner, President and CEO, Walmart U.S., stated, “We are heartbroken by the devastation our associates, friends, and neighbors in Texas are facing, especially the families of those who have lost loved ones.” Chris Nicholas, President and CEO, Sam’s Club, added, “We will stand by the Kerrville community and help provide the resources and support they need as they recover and rebuild.”
Toyota Motor North America and partners have pledged over $600,000 to flood relief efforts. Donations will go to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and other local initiatives. Toyota Financial Services is offering payment relief, while dealers and employees are contributing through matched donations. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this horrible tragedy,” said Ted Ogawa, CEO, Toyota Motor North America. Dan Friedkin, CEO of Gulf States Toyota, noted, “Gulf States Toyota was born here, built here, and especially in times of hardship, we remain committed to supporting our communities as they try to heal and rebuild.” Together, Walmart and Toyota are playing a vital role in aiding Texas communities during this time of recovery.
