Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to open nearly 90 luxury and lifestyle properties across Asia Pacific over the next five years, reflecting the region’s growing demand for high-end, experience-driven hospitality. The expansion includes the regional debut of the Thompson Hotels brand with Thompson Shanghai Expo, slated for Q4 2025, which draws inspiration from the city’s industrial heritage and dynamic cultural scene. Carina Chorengel, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Asia Pacific, Hyatt, said, “Today, luxury is about authenticity and unique experiences. Our recently refined brand architecture and expansion in luxury and lifestyle portfolios allow us to cater to discerning travelers with focus and differentiation.” As of Q1 2025, 64% of Hyatt’s hotels in the region fall under luxury and upper-upscale categories, signaling the company’s commitment to meeting this demand.
New openings also include Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, launching in August 2025 atop Asia Pacific’s tallest skyscraper, and Andaz One Bangkok, set in Thailand’s largest real estate development. Following its acquisition of Standard International in 2024, Hyatt is growing the Standard brand in the region with openings like The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien. Additionally, Park Hyatt Phu Quoc in Vietnam will debut in early 2026, offering premium hospitality on a mile-long beachfront. These developments reflect Hyatt’s strategy of delivering meaningful and memorable guest experiences throughout Asia Pacific.
