Chef Christophe Bellanca Elevates Dining at Essential with Refined French Cuisine

Chef Christophe Bellanca brings decades of culinary expertise to his latest venture, Essential by Christophe, a refined restaurant situated at the base of a classic townhouse. Born in the Ardeche region of France, Chef Bellanca developed his skills in some of France’s most esteemed kitchens, including Georges Blanc in Vonnas, La Pyramide in Vienne, Regis Marcon in Saint-Bonnet Le Froid, and with Anne-Sophie Pic in Valence, where he spent over six years. He later served as the culinary director for Joël Robuchon USA from 2011, guiding the teams at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in New York and Miami. During his tenure, he earned two Michelin stars in New York City and mentored rising culinary talent while preserving Robuchon’s legacy.

Essential by Christophe presents a modern and elegant dining experience with supple leather accents, brass detailing, and a calming beige palette. The menu reflects Chef Bellanca’s refined approach, blending classical French techniques with thoughtful international influences. Highlights include white asparagus on bergamot crème with herb vinaigrette, blue prawns served with genmaicha tuille, and a standout braised black sea bass with shiitake chutney, razor clams, and turmeric emulsion. For dessert, the orange soufflé paired with green cardamom ice cream offers a light and fragrant finish, completing a carefully curated dining journey.
